Head Professor Rafael La Porta is a 6th-degree black belt with 33 years in the art, promoted in 2001 by Francisco 'Toco' Albuquerque and Rodrigo Medeiros of the Carlson Gracie lineage and later training under Julio Cesar Pereira and Theodoro Canal; he is a three-time Brazilian national champion with 40+ IBJJF and federation medals.
