Ethos Jiu-Jitsu in Fullerton, CA was co-founded by Ron Mukai and Jerardo Linares, both 2nd-degree black belts under William Tetsch (Leon Jiu-Jitsu), whose lineage runs Helio Gracie → Royler Gracie (Gracie Humaita) → Cleber Luciano → William Tetsch. Head instructor Rodnei 'Roy' Barbosa is a 2nd-degree black belt (BB since 2015, born in Brazil) and IBJJF No-Gi World Champion who also won Brazilian Nationals, South American, European, and World Pro titles. Wendy Mukai earned her black belt at IBJJF Master Worlds 2023. Filipe Pimentel is a 2nd-degree black belt and international IBJJF/CBJJ/AJP referee. The school also founded East LA Jiu Jitsu in April 2021, a non-profit sister school. Programs include adult gi and no-gi and kids (ages 5-16).
