Oceanside is the northernmost San Diego County BJJ cluster — close enough to Camp Pendleton that many gyms serve military students, and far enough from the downtown core to keep its own distinct scene. Seven academies in town, headlined by 10th Planet Oceanside Jiu Jitsu and Training Center (the Eddie Bravo no-gi system) plus Oceanside Athletic Club and High Performance Training Center. The mix skews toward MMA-blended schools more than pure BJJ — Camp Pendleton's active-duty population creates demand for striking + grappling crossover training. If you want no-gi submission grappling with a Southern California flavor, 10th Planet Oceanside is probably the single-best fit in the county outside SD proper.
