About Integrated Self-Defense
Integrated Self-Defense in Colorado Springs is a family-owned Jujutsu-based self-defense academy run by Samantha Sargent, who came to Jujutsu in 2020 from a Taekwondo background, with instructor and coach Mateo C, a Colorado Springs native who added Jujutsu in 2021 and works in the youth programme. The academy is explicit that it does not teach traditional Taekwondo or Karate — it draws strikes, kicks, blocks and punches from a range of disciplines but keeps the focus on applying Jujutsu principles for self-defense. Training is priced per class at $25, or $99 a month for one or two classes a week, with 30-minute private lessons at $30 and a buy-one-get-one-half-price family offer.
