About Strong Tower Grappling

Strong Tower Grappling is a free, faith-based men's Brazilian jiu-jitsu group at 3990 N Weber St in Colorado Springs, founded by Andrew Costner to build community among men through shared hardship on the mat. A session starts with a technique lesson and four or five rounds of sparring, then moves to a short message from a Christian worldview and small-group discussion; the group meets Fridays at 6:00 pm and alternates gi and no-gi week by week. Head coach Matthew Schutz is a purple belt under Professor Tom Lynn Jr., assisted by Carlos Montelongo, a retired Colorado Springs police officer with over a decade on the mats. No experience is required, loaner gis are available, and attendees need not be religious.
