BJJ in Evanston

Evanston, immediately north of Chicago along Lake Michigan and home to Northwestern University, has three BJJ options — Serafin Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Fonseca Martial Arts (the Evanston companion to the Roscoe Village location in the city), and Gym 1801. All three run as independents. The North Shore corridor is well-served from here: Wilmette (Carlson Gracie North Shore via Staley Martial Arts) is five minutes up Sheridan Road, Glenview and Niles are within ten minutes, and Chicago's North Side density (Lakeside, North Side BJJ, Lincoln Park / Wrigleyville options) is a 15-20 minute drive south. Evanston practitioners rarely need to travel far for cross-training variety.
