About Pound 4 Pound Elite Boxing Academy
Pound 4 Pound Elite Boxing Academy is a non-profit boxing gym in the Wycliff West Shopping Center at 10324 Mastin Street, Overland Park, Kansas, teaching ages 8 and up. Training is built on fundamentals — footwork, balance, punch mechanics and defense — with group classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6:30 PM, a women-only class on Sundays at 3:00 PM, strength and conditioning, and one-to-one personal training. It is led by founder and head coach Master Melvin Wesley, with assistant head coach Kate LaVigne and coaches Danny Grayson and Abdul Ankrah, and the academy hosts its own amateur fight nights ("Who Wants That Smoke"), the first in January 2024.
