About Shreveport Jiu-Jitsu: Archimedes Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy
Archimedes Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy at 1618 Marshall St in Shreveport, Louisiana teaches jiu-jitsu in three facets — sport (gi and no-gi competition), MMA application, and street self-defense — and offers regular classes, private lessons, kids jiu-jitsu from age seven, a ladies' self-defense class, and combatives tracks for police, paramedics, military and veterans. Head instructor Professor Christopher Velez is a black belt who came to the art from wrestling at the US Air Force Academy and trained for eleven years under Professor Carlos Santos of First BJJ in Salt Lake City, giving the school a Carlson Gracie lineage.
