About Institute of Martial Arts
The Institute of Martial Arts operates from 16849 West Warren Avenue, Suite A in Detroit, sharing premises and a website with Cooper's Boxing Gym, established 1972. Between them they teach nine disciplines — boxing, Muay Thai, kickboxing, MMA, traditional Hapkido, self-defense, kids karate, defensive tactics and private training — with every programme split into non-competitive and competitive tracks and separate courses for men, women, teens and children alongside co-ed adult classes. The school markets itself in English, Spanish, Arabic and Chinese to Metro Detroit's communities and is described as Detroit's longest-operating boxing and martial arts facility.
