About Vanguard Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Vanguard BJJ is a family-friendly Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy at 5258 Plainfield Ave NE in Grand Rapids, Michigan, framing its training around integrity, self control, self confidence, self defense, sport, and health and fitness. Its staff covers gi and no-gi, street defense and competition preparation, and includes two black belts, two brown belts and a purple belt: Roy Shaw, who has trained since 2008 and received his black belt from Mike Ross; Andy McCreight, who started in 2009 at URSA Academy / Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu in Ann Arbor and earned his black belt under Clint Crabtree; judo and BJJ brown belt Mike George; Jesse Cecil; and Sean Flikkema, who teaches BJJ Basics.
