About Guardians BJJ & Martial Arts
Guardians BJJ & Martial Arts is a Springfield, MO academy opened in 2020 by head coach and owner Mike Rose, a black belt under the Renato Tavares Association who came to jiu-jitsu from wrestling. Its four programmes are an adult BJJ class that weaves together jiu-jitsu, self-defence and wrestling and rotates gi and no-gi, kids and juniors BJJ for ages 4-14, a striking class and private lessons. The academy displays a Carlson Gracie jiu-jitsu lineage through master instructor Renato Tavares, a 6th-degree black belt and multiple-time IBJJF world champion who oversees the affiliated schools.
