About Katabami Ju-Jitsu Dojo, School of Martial Arts and Eastern Healing Arts
Katabami Ju-Jitsu Dojo at 3035 Lincoln Blvd, Omaha, NE is a traditional Japanese ju-jitsu school - the Kagami Kusa Katabami Ju-Jitsu Clan honbu dojo - teaching "old school" samurai-era ju-jitsu: standing and ground fighting, strikes, joint locks, chokes, throws, grappling, restraint and weapons control, framed as a complete realistic self-defense system rather than a sport. Ju-jitsu runs Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings for ages 13-60, with the Sunday combat ju-jitsu and weapons class by invitation only. The dojo also teaches Tai Chi and Chi Gung, yoga and meditation, and runs Nam Shin Jing Kyo, an Oriental school of healing. It is led by O-Sensei Rev. Alexey Kunin, a 10th dan holding Menkyo Kaiden (License of Total Transmission), a Shinto priest, US Army veteran, combat ju-jitsu master instructor for military and police, three-time world and one-time Asian champion, with over 48 years in martial arts and eastern healing arts.
