About Albuquerque Modern Martial Arts

Albuquerque Modern Martial Arts (AMMA) on Juan Tabo Blvd NE in Albuquerque, New Mexico teaches three disciplines: Krav Maga self-defense, ANLAM Filipino martial arts (a descendant of Pekiti-Tirsia and Kali, built around stick and knife work) and Sanuces Ryu Jiu Jitsu, an eclectic American ground-fighting style that draws on boxing, wrestling, Japanese jiu-jitsu, judo and karate. Jiu-jitsu runs for adults and in two kids bands, ages 5-9 and 9-15, five evenings a week alongside Krav Maga and Filipino martial arts. The school is owned and primarily taught by Andres Lucero, a 5th Dan in IPP Krav Maga and 1st Dan in Sanuces Ryu Jiu Jitsu, with a large assistant instructor team, and offers two free trial classes.
