About Gustavo Machado Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Rocky Mount
Gustavo Machado Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Rocky Mount is Nash County's original BJJ academy, founded in 2014 at Benvenue Plaza on Jeffreys Road in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and grown out of classes its founder had been running for friends in his grandparents' garage since 2000. It teaches Brazilian jiu-jitsu, judo, MMA and self-defense across age-banded programmes — Pups (4-6), Wolves (7-12) and adults (13 and up) — plus six-week women-only courses, and its judo is sanctioned by USA Judo. The academy is led by Professor Eric Griffin, a Rocky Mount native and 3rd-degree black belt with over 30 years of martial arts experience, and says it has five actively training black belts with over 100 years of combined experience.
