About Asheville's Northside Jiu Jitsu

Northside Jiu-Jitsu is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu academy at 2 Weaverville Rd in Asheville, opened in December 2024 by head instructor and owner Paddy Dodd, a black belt under Master Shaun Dillon and an active IBJJF competitor. It runs four programs - adult fundamentals for day-one beginners, a kids program for ages 5-12, an invite-based competition team and open mat - training six days a week with morning, midday and evening adult gi and no-gi classes. Two purple belts, Caleb "Peanut" Hansley and Reed Powell, assist, with Hansley leading the kids program.
