Owner Travis Haynes began judo and karate around 1984, came to Brazilian jiu-jitsu through the early UFC, and travelled the US and Brazil to train with grapplers including Roberto 'Roleta' Magalhães, Anibal Braga and Carlson Gracie Team legend Ricardo De La Riva before establishing his relationship with Carlson Gracie Jr around 25 years ago. He is a 4th-degree BJJ black belt, a judo black belt, a Hayastan Grappling black belt and a traditional Japanese jiu-jitsu brown belt. The academy teaches kids jiu-jitsu from age 6 alongside adult classes across judo and jiu-jitsu.
