Carlson Gracie Oklahoma in Oklahoma City is headed by Sandro Sampaio, born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, who trained with the Carlson Gracie Team in Copacabana from the age of five, received his black belt from Paulo Filho in 2005 and his 5th degree from Master Carlson Gracie Jr. Classes run six days a week and are almost entirely gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, split between adults (14+), Junior Bulldogs (8-13) and Mini Bulldogs (4-7), with members-only open mats on Friday evening and Saturday morning; no-gi, wrestling, judo and striking classes are listed as returning or starting soon. Three other coaches teach alongside Sampaio, including an Oklahoma State Trooper who specialises in law enforcement defensive tactics. The academy's youngest student is four and its oldest is seventy, and a free trial class is offered.
