BJJ in Troutdale

Troutdale sits at the gateway to the Columbia River Gorge, about 15 miles east of Portland via I-84. It is the home of Checkmat Portland — the Checkmat International affiliate for the Portland metro, despite being located east of the city rather than inside it.

The Checkmat flag brings a well-organized competition pedigree to the eastern Portland corridor, serving Gresham, Fairview, and Gorge-area residents who would otherwise face a longer commute to reach lineage-affiliated training. Portland's full 25-gym scene is about 20 minutes west on I-84.
