About Aplus BJJ Academy
A+ Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy on Bamford Ln in Kirwan is Townsville's BJJ academy for adults and kids, running gi classes plus a dedicated no-gi / submission wrestling day and competing in both. Adult classes cover positional fundamentals from offensive and defensive angles followed by isolated positional sparring; the kids program takes children from age five to fifteen with technique drills, supervised sparring and an anti-bullying focus. Visitors and travellers can drop in for casual sessions. Head coach Professor Alan has over 20 years in BJJ with multiple Australian State titles, a black belt National Championship and three Pan Pacific titles; coach Alex Brandao is a State, National and Pan Pacific champion and European Championship silver medallist.
