Ricardo Cavalcanti BJJ RI in North Providence is led by Professor Steve Santiago, who earned his black belt certificate on 13 June 2019 and whose lineage runs back through Master Ricardo Cavalcanti to Grand Master Carlson Gracie. The academy is part of Master Cavalcanti's global network of over 30 affiliated schools and says it is one of the few IBJJF-certified schools in Rhode Island. Alongside kids, youth and adult beginner and advanced BJJ it runs judo and wrestling under Coach Mooney, who has over 20 years of wrestling experience and a judo black belt, and boxing and Muay Thai fundamentals under Coach Rich Jimenez.
