About Knoxville Academy of Martial Arts

Knoxville Academy of Martial Arts (KAMA) is a family martial arts studio in West Knoxville serving the Knoxville and Farragut areas, combining karate and kickboxing with a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu programme that runs under the Rock Solid Jiu-Jitsu and Self-Defense banner. Kids are banded as Little Dragons (3-5), Beginner (5-10), Intermediate/Advanced (6-10) and Teen (11-15); adult classes are 16 and up; morning Muay Thai runs Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30 am with a sparring class Saturday at 8:00 am; and morning karate and BJJ classes serve the homeschool community. The studio also runs an after-school programme and seasonal camps. It was founded by Master Robert Butturini, who began training in 1990, and its jiu-jitsu is headed by BJJ black belt Mark "Deuce" Nawrocki.
