About Knoxville Martial Arts Academy

Knoxville Martial Arts Academy (KMAA) at 6514 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN teaches MMA, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and kickboxing, with Little Dragons (3-5) and Youth MMA/BJJ (6-12) programs. It trains through a Constraints-Led / ecological approach rather than static drilling, runs its own MMA and striking ranking systems (Wazakishindo, graded in 'bands'), and states openly that it is not IBJJF-recognised and does not pursue sport-BJJ rulesets. Founder Eric Turner is a 2nd degree BJJ and judo black belt who has handed day-to-day leadership to head coach Jason King and Emilee King. The academy runs CombatCare, a safeguarding protocol adapted from SafeSport with mandatory 12-week coach onboarding, and The Elysium Organization, a 501(c)(3) funding training scholarships.
