About Ocelotl Martial Arts Academy
Ocelotl Martial Arts Academy sits on the west side of El Paso directly across from UTEP and was founded at the end of 2022 by Liliana 'Lily' Sanchez, who named it after the Nahuatl word for jaguar and the Aztec Jaguar Warriors, who had to capture rather than kill their opponents. It teaches gi and no-gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for adults and children from age three, MMA for adults and kids, Judo from age five, HIIT kickboxing and Muay Thai from age twelve, yoga, and a six-to-eight-week self-defence course for adults, seniors and children. Kids' BJJ is split into Cubs (3-5), Jaguar Young Warriors (6-9) and Ocelotl Young Warriors (10-16), and a women's-only BJJ class runs weekly.
