About Pittman Jiu Jitsu
Pittman Jiu Jitsu (Pittman's Academy of Martial Arts) has served Lubbock, Texas since 1993 and teaches Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to kids aged 4-8, teens and adults 13+, plus a family martial arts class from age 4 and women's self-defense courses. It is led by Professor Pittman, a 6th-degree BJJ black belt who trains under Carlos Machado — the site says he is Machado's highest-ranking American student — and who came to jiu-jitsu from karate and tae kwon do, where he held a 3rd-degree black belt and opened his own school at 17. Two further black belts, Mr. Preidis and Mr. Cambron, teach on the staff, and the academy also runs kids' birthday parties.
