About Submission Concepts
Submission Concepts at 9703 Bandera Road in northwest San Antonio was founded in 2009 by Dave Siller and moved to its Bandera location in 2014, growing from a jiu-jitsu school into an all-round martial arts academy. It teaches gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, no-gi grappling, submission grappling, fundamentals, kids' BJJ, kickboxing, MMA and women's only self-defense and BJJ classes, and states its lineage as Jigoro Kano to Mitsuo Maeda to Carlos and Helio Gracie to Royler Gracie to Jason Izaguirre to Dave Siller to its current coaches. Head BJJ coach Jonathan Ramirez is a 2nd degree black belt with 20 years in martial arts and a professional MMA record, and the school gives special law enforcement rates and discounts to active military, veterans, educators and first responders.
