About BJJ CENTER
First BJJ (First BJJ Center) on Van Winkle in Salt Lake City, Utah is run by Professor Carlos Santos, a 5th-degree black belt and three-time IBJJF world champion who began training at the Carlson Gracie Academy in Copacabana in 1993, later headed the gi division at Brazilian Top Team and coached Emirates Jiu-Jitsu in Abu Dhabi before launching this academy in June 2014. Classes are Adult Gi, Adult No-Gi, a Ladies group, Fundamentals (technique and positional control, no rolling), kids classes banded from 4-7 up to 8-14, private sessions and a Sunday open mat, plus kids summer camps and birthday parties. Every class follows the same shape -- warm up, skills drilling, then rolling with partners of every belt level.
