About Unified Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Unified Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in South Jordan, Utah was founded in 2006 by four Pedro Sauer black belts — Shawn Weaver, John Carlquist, James Gardner and Matt Strack — who kept Sauer's Utah academy going as one school after he moved to Virginia. It is led today by fifth-degree black belts John Carlquist and James Gardner, teaches a self-defense-oriented style across kids, teens, beginner, advanced, gi, no-gi and mixed classes, and runs open mat six days a week plus a women's-only class and women's open mat on Saturdays.
