About West Coast Academy of Martial Arts
West Coast Academy of Martial Arts (WCAMA) on Ranford Rd in Southern River, Perth is a family-oriented self-defence school running three streams: Freestyle Martial Arts (its striking, wrestling, ground-fighting and combatives self-defence system), a full Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu programme with Gi fundamentals, a blue-belts-and-above class, no-gi and Saturday all-ranks sessions, and beginners MMA. Kids train as Pre-Juniors (5-8), Juniors (9-12) and Teens (13-15) under the Bushido code. It is affiliated with Gladiator Wrestling and coach Alan Landy, a former national high-performance manager and WA state coach, for freestyle wrestling fundamentals.
