About Madison Judo
Madison Judo is a judo club at 600 Williamson St in Madison, WI, running two-hour Tuesday and Thursday classes that combine instruction, fitness and free practice, plus a Sunday randori session for drilling and live practice that is open to drop-ins but not recommended for new students. Its four active instructors are all judo black belts — Ian Warlick-Short and KwangYu Lee at nidan, Timothy Freiberg and Luke Rislove at shodan — supported by three emeritus instructors including former head coach Lesley Hutchins, a Great Britain international and IJF veterans' world medallist. Two of the coaches also hold BJJ rank: KwangYu Lee a first-degree black belt in jiu-jitsu, Luke Rislove a blue belt.
