Neutral Ground Academy's Bay View gym at 1200 E Oklahoma Ave in Milwaukee, part of an academy open since 2005 that takes an explicitly 'safety first', laid-back approach to training. Bay View carries the academy's kids' programme, with age-banded classes from Littles (4-6) through Middles (7-8), Bigs (7-12) and Teens (13+), alongside adult beginner, mixed-level and invite-only intermediate/advanced BJJ in gi and no-gi, a brown-and-black-belt 'PhD BJJ' group, a Saturday open mat that is open to other gyms, and a Sunday women's-only class. Owner and head instructor Jon Friedland leads a roster of more than twenty coaches shared with the academy's Eastside location.
