BJJ in Gold River

Gold River is an unincorporated community east of Sacramento and home to the historically most significant academy in the entire Capital Region: **Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy of Sacramento (Elements of Jiujitsu)** — the first BJJ academy in the Sacramento area. The school is led by Chief Instructor Dave Terry, a 3rd-degree black belt under Rickson Gracie (received 2002) who first met Rickson in 1992 in Los Angeles and has served as a representative of the Rickson Gracie International Jiu-Jitsu Association (RGIJJA) since 1995. Terry is certified by Rickson Gracie to teach the JJGF self-defense certification, recognized as a black belt under the IBJJF, and brings a background in Aiki Jiujitsu under Professor Moore, judo, wrestling and Japanese Jiujitsu. Programs focus on Gracie / Rickson lineage Jiu-Jitsu for self-defense, sport, and MMA preparation.
