About Kobushi Dojo
Kobushi Dojo is a martial arts studio at 12995 S Cleveland Ave in the Pinebrook Park plaza, Fort Myers, FL, built around Hayashi-Ha Shito-Ryu karate and Okinawan kobudo and extended with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and capoeira. Its senior karate lineage runs through Souke Timothy M. Brooks, who studied karate and kobudo in Japan under Shogo Kuniba, Ryuso Sakagami and Teruo Hayashi before returning to the US in 1970 to teach Shito Ryu. The BJJ side is led by Professor Wagner Moraes, founder of WM TEAM, and the dojo fields a tournament team that its head coach Shihan Joel 'Taka' Coffin has taken to state and national titles.
