About Jacksonville Judo Training Center
Jacksonville Judo Training Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and a member dojo of both the United States Judo Federation and USA Judo, training in a 3,200 square foot facility that it calls Jacksonville's largest dedicated judo space. Classes run Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings with kids at 6pm and adults at 7pm, and Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays are reserved for private lessons and events. Head coach and owner Hiram 'Tonka' Cruz is a fifth-degree judo black belt, USA Judo international coach and former Team USA member with six US national titles, three US Open titles, Pan American and World Masters medals, World BJJ medals and four collegiate wrestling championships. Membership is $130 a month unlimited, the dojo accepts Step Up for Students scholarships and runs a Heroes Program of discounted rates for law enforcement, first responders, military and teachers.
