About Old School Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Old School Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has been running in Jacksonville, FL since 2007 and takes what it calls an all-inclusive approach of gi, no-gi, self-defense and competition. It runs three adult classes a day Monday to Friday (6am, noon and 7pm — Thursday is the no-gi day) plus a Saturday gi open mat and a twice-weekly MMA cardio/conditioning session, and a kids program split into Little Champs (5-7) and Kids (8-14). Owner and head professor Bill Perez is a 4th-degree black belt with over 30 years in BJJ, MMA and vale tudo, promoted in 2018 by 8th-degree coral-white Luiz Palhares, in direct lineage to Rolls and Rickson Gracie.
