About CDA Jiu-Jitsu
CDA Jiu-Jitsu in Dalton Gardens, Idaho is an IBJJF Certified Academy owned by Professor Shawn Lawrence, who took up jiu-jitsu in 2010 after watching his son train and received his black belt in 2022 from Master Rigan Machado — Carlos Gracie Jr's first black belt and one of the Machado brothers. A former commercial and US Navy deep-sea diver, Lawrence is an IBJJF Certified Black Belt and National Coaches Education Program Silver Coach with 42 competition medals. The academy runs adult gi jiu-jitsu and no-gi grappling at both fundamentals and advanced level, morning, midday and evening, a Saturday open roll, and kids classes as Lion Cubs (4-6) and Little Lions (7-14) in both gi and no-gi.
