About HeadNodHQ - American Jiu Jitsu - Granite City
HeadNod is a family-run grappling school at the corner of Wabash and Pontoon Road in Granite City, Illinois, and the HQ of a three-school group (Granite City, Jerseyville, Edwardsville). Owner Josh McKinney started training with his father Steve in a garage in 2002 and opened the Granite City school in 2015; the group has since dropped the Brazilian jiu-jitsu label in favour of its own concept-driven "American Jiu Jitsu" curriculum, taught in gi and no-gi with kids classes (Petite Patriots ages 4-7, Patriots ages 8-13) and a Sunday open mat. Granite City is the only one of the three locations that also runs Muay Thai.
