About CORE Combat Sports
CORE Combat Sports is a 10,000 sq ft gym in Louisville, Kentucky teaching Krav Maga, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, boxing, Muay Thai kickboxing and judo, plus a CoreFit programme, personal training and a weight room, with a full-size boxing ring and MMA dummies on the floor. It is known regionally as a law-enforcement training destination and runs specialised sessions for officers, first responders and military units. Founder Rolando Haddad is a Krav Maga and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt who has taught combat sports since 1995, is certified by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council to teach officers in combatives, and was hired to advise and revise the state's defensive tactics curriculum and manual. His son Nathan Haddad is a BJJ black belt under Helio "Soneca" Moreira and the 2026 ADCC West Coast Trials 88kg champion, and retired Bellator fighter Brent Weedman (24-9-1), the youngest ever winner of the Byakuren All Japan Open karate tournament, teaches adult BJJ.
