About JM Modern Jiu Jitsu
JM Modern Jiu Jitsu is a 6,500 sq ft Baton Rouge academy with two mat areas, opened in 2013 by Coach Josh Mancuso, who has taught in the city since 2007 and says he has personally produced more than 40 black belts. The curriculum is deliberately hybrid: Brazilian jiu-jitsu in gi and no-gi at the centre, with folkstyle, freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, judo and Russian sambo feeding into it, plus MMA, an ADCC submission-fighting competition track, beginner classes and kids classes from age 3. Every discipline is included in one membership, and the building has locker rooms, four private showers, a cold plunge and a pro shop.
