About Close Quarter Combatives Unlimited
Close Quarter Combatives Unlimited (CQC Unlimited) in Shreveport, Louisiana teaches private and group training in a blend of martial arts and combat sciences aimed at urban violent encounters rather than sport. Its CORE curriculum spans mental and emotional work (situational awareness, conflict avoidance and de-escalation), physical training (boxing and kickboxing, joint breaking, limb and body controls, takedowns and throws, combative ground fighting) and weapons training including impact, edged, flexible, improvised and projectile weapons and firearms, drawing on Jeet Kune Do, Filipino Kali/Arnis/Eskrima, Pencak Silat, Kenpo and BJJ. It also hosts an official Pekiti Tirsia Kali training group. Chief instructor Matthew Lesko has trained since 1984.
