About Guardian Baltimore

Guardian Baltimore is a 501(c)(3) non-profit jiu-jitsu gym at 2227 Huntingdon Ave in Baltimore, founded by Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and chef Carlos Raba next to his restaurant Clavel. Its mission is to fund jiu-jitsu scholarships for underserved youth — supported by donations and by adult memberships — while providing year-round stability through mentorship, friendship, healthy meal programmes and a secure environment. Adults train gi and no-gi BJJ and can also take Mysore-style Ashtanga yoga run with Baltimore Yoga Studies. New adult members get a seven-day free trial; youth places are waitlisted and pre-registered only, with no walk-ins.
