About Bowerhouse MMA
Bowerhouse MMA was established in Frederick, Maryland in 2014 and runs Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, boxing, kickboxing, judo, wrestling, MMA and group functional fitness for youth and adults, plus private and personal training. BJJ is taught as a gi fundamentals class on a 16-week rotating curriculum covering the eight main positions, feeding an advanced class, with a separate women's-only BJJ programme and kids jiu-jitsu and boxing. The boxing programme runs its own 16-week curriculum and fields a USA Boxing-affiliated team under Coach John Stone that competes in the Golden Gloves. Owner Chris Bower is a 3rd-degree BJJ black belt under Professor Vicente Junior, who teaches at the academy himself as a 5th-degree black belt under Ricardo De La Riva.
