About Foundation Jiu-Jitsu

Foundation Jiu-Jitsu in Pikesville, Baltimore County was founded in 2019 by head instructor and owner Jeff Mount, a first-degree black belt with over 17 years in the sport. It teaches gi and no-gi jiu-jitsu for adults at fundamentals and advanced level with an emphasis on self-defence and modern sport jiu-jitsu, deliberately including stand-up grappling from judo, wrestling and clinch fighting, plus kids' classes split into ages 4-7 and 8-13. Newer additions include an Intro to MMA class on Thursday nights combining no-gi with controlled striking, and a men's-only no-gi fundamentals class on Sunday evenings for ages 14 and up, created to be mindful of the local community's religious practices.
