About North South Jiu Jitsu
North South Jiu Jitsu is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school in the Bloomfield/Montclair area of New Jersey, run by married black belts Adam and Karen Peterson, who met training at Clockwork Jiu Jitsu in Brooklyn under Josh Griffiths. The adult and older-teen programme (15+) runs white-belt-only, fundamentals, mixed-level, no-gi, conditioning and Muay Thai classes, all included in the membership, and kids are split into Growing Grapplers (4-5), Jiu Jitsu Juniors (6-8), Future Fighters (8.5-10) and Teen Titans (11-14). The school describes an ego-free room where sparring is always optional, and runs a competition team that has produced multiple medallists.
