About Emerald City Jiu Jitsu
Emerald City Jiu Jitsu (ECJJ) in Cicero, NY was established in 2022 and describes itself as "Nogi Jiu Jitsu. All Day, Every Day", taught to adults and youth by instructors still competing professionally, plus Muay Thai three times a week and youth programs geared toward early competition. The building is its own: a 1,260 sq ft main mat room with an 18-foot pit wall, a second 1,000 sq ft mat room with wall-mounted bags for Muay Thai, a members' weight room and a sauna/weight-cutting room. Founder and head coach Sam Micale is a black belt under Tom DeBlass with an ADCC, IBJJF and sub-only competition record; ECJJ also has an affiliate school, Project Jiu Jitsu in Binghamton.
