About Parabellum Jiu Jitsu MMA Academy
Parabellum Jiu Jitsu MMA Academy at 582 Hendersonville Rd in Asheville, North Carolina is a 3,700 sq ft gym teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, striking and MMA to youth and adults, from beginners to competitors, serving Asheville, Arden, Fletcher and Hendersonville. It is led by Shaun Dillon, a 3rd-degree black belt under Ricardo Liborio — who took his own black belt from Carlson Gracie — who earned his belt at American Top Team headquarters in Coconut Creek, coached alongside Liborio there with UFC fighters including Robbie Lawler, Tyron Woodley, Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington (whose main grappling coach he was), and owned American Top Team Asheville until 2023 before founding Parabellum. Gym manager Nicole Woods runs the women's BJJ class, and Shaun's brother Mark Dillon, a black belt and former state-placing wrestler, teaches a traditional gi-focused game.
