About Tawheed Jiu-Jitsu Academy
Tawheed Jiu Jitsu Academy was founded in 2015 on N Roxboro St in Durham, North Carolina, built around the idea - reflected in its name, توحيد, the unification of one - that jiu-jitsu is a brotherhood rather than a solo pursuit. It runs kids BJJ from age 4, a youth group for 10-14s, adult fundamentals and an advanced sparring and competition-prep class, plus kickboxing and a Sunday open mat, training five days a week and closed Saturdays. Head instructor Khalil Nasir, a black belt since 2022, leads a staff of three Nasir family jiu-jitsu coaches and a dedicated head kickboxing coach; membership is a single flat unlimited rate with no sign-up fee or long contract, and the gym is a Wellhub partner facility.
