About United Thai Boxing & MMA

United Thai Boxing & MMA at 4900 NC Hwy 55 in Durham, North Carolina was established in 2012 to fill the gap left when the Triangle's only Muay Thai-based gym closed. Muay Thai is the foundation — classes six days a week from age five to professional fighters — with boxing, MMA, Brazilian jiu-jitsu (Thursday and Friday evenings), capoeira, yoga, Level II sparring, kids classes and an invite-only fight team. The MMA programme deliberately blends Muay Thai, BJJ, judo, military combatives and wrestling, and the gym's fighters have included retired UFC strawweight Hannah 'Shockwave' Cifers and multiple IKF World Classic and USA Muay Thai champions.
