About The Next Element Academy
The Next Element Academy at 3811 N Kings Hwy Suite 30 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina describes itself as the Grand Strand's only IBJJF and USA Boxing certified facility. It teaches Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, boxing and Muay Thai for adults, with kids' classes split by age into Mini Rollers jiu-jitsu (5-7), Youth Jiu Jitsu (8-14) and a youth wrestling class (8-14) aimed at children already wrestling at school; teens can move into adult classes at 15. Professor Derrick Kennington has taught martial arts for over 15 years, served twelve years in the U.S. Air Force as a Technical Sergeant and combatives instructor, holds a BJJ black belt awarded by UFC veteran Kurt Pellegrino in 2014, and retired from professional fighting in 2018 after more than 20 pro bouts. Class sizes are deliberately capped and enrolment closes when they fill.
