BJJ in Houston

Houston has one of the deepest BJJ scenes in Texas — 70+ academies inside the city limits, plus dozens more across the metro. Every major lineage shows up: Gracie Barra (with multiple Houston locations under Vinicius "Draculino" Magalhães's GB Texas umbrella in nearby Webster), Renzo Gracie (multiple affiliates including Heights, EaDo, and the HCU campus location), 10th Planet, Alliance, Atos, Carlson Gracie, and the "Tooke / Travis Tooke" family tree of independent academies. There's also more boxing and Muay Thai than most US BJJ markets — Houston is genuinely a combat-sports city.

Expect monthly dues to span $130 to $250+ for adult unlimited memberships, with most gyms running strong kids and competition programs. Houston's BJJ density is high enough that you'll find good training within a 15-minute drive of just about any neighborhood — Heights, Midtown, EaDo, Bellaire, Memorial, Westchase, and Spring Branch all have multiple options each.
