BJJ in Wylie

Wylie, in eastern Collin County, is home to **VA Academy Jiu Jitsu**, led by 3rd-degree Checkmat black belt Vinicius Agudo — one of the most accomplished resident instructors in the outer DFW ring. Agudo began training in 2003 in São Paulo under UFC contender and World Champion Gabriel 'Napao' Gonzaga, received his black belt in 2013 under Leo Vieira, and settled in Wylie in 2016. His competition record includes an IBJJF American National Championship, two Pan Ams medals, multiple IBJJF Open titles, a Metamoris appearance, six Fight2Win victories, and a Kasai Pro win. The academy runs gi, no-gi, kids, and competition team programs with open mat events and a trial membership available. Wolfpack Mixed Martial Arts also claims a Wylie satellite location (Rockwall-based operation, three sites total).
